Mission Call Opening

The countdown!
The countdown!

One Wednesday morning in April, I opened up my mailbox to see a beautiful, sparkling white envelope, MY MISSION CALL! But how did I get to this point in my life?

I just began my winter semester of my Freshman year at Brigham Young University-Salt Lake Center. Recently over Christmas break, I talked to my parents about serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are both very supportive in my choices throughout my life, and I’m very grateful for their love and support. I talked to my YSA bishop at school and I began my journey to start my mission papers.

But why did I want to serve a mission? Perviously I had taken a “Mission Preparatory” ¬†class at school. During that class among with other influential promptings, I knew I had to serve a 18-month Mission.

On March 23rd, 2014, I turned in my papers, and the waiting began. From the famous “Festival of Colors”, to General Conference, I was quite anxious to get my call.

I opened my call with family and friends on April 12th, 2014, to RESISTENCIA, ARGENTINA! I report August 27th, 2014 to the Provo MTC! I couldn’t be more thrilled to serve in Argentina!! I had to roughly wait 137 days till I report, and I was and still am very anxious!

“There is no more compelling work than this, nor any which brings greater satisfaction. We challenge you to rise to a new sense of commitment to assist our Father in Heaven.” Preach My Gospel, V.

I cannot wait to serve the Lord in Argentina. Currently, I only have 56 days before I report to the Provo MTC and I’m completely thrilled.
